As the morning sun warms the Ozark foothills, the Shaw Hallow House emerges from the dissipating fog. The Shaw Hollow House rests down in the hollow where the forest gives way to the prairie. The design seeks to poetically express the phenomena of radiation fog, which gathers in the morning hours in the Ozarks. The east and west coast origins of the client’s personal histories inspired the secondary design initiative which emphasizes integration and a space ‘in between’.
