American corporate offices and Testing Ranges for one of Italy’s oldest manufacturers of ammunition located in the rural countryside of Ozark Missouri. The driving concept for the design was inspired by the study of the kinetic energy inherent in the external ballistics of a projectile after exiting the muzzle of a firearm. Specifically: velocity, air resistance, trajectory, sonic tearing, and shock wave dynamics. The floor plan and exterior form of the building were both designed to reflect the nature of these ballistic forces. The resulting design has bold angularity and fractured forms-almost as though the building itself was subjected to these forces in how the interior layout and the exterior form of the building are viewed and experienced.
